Episode Overview | |
The kids are practicing their rap song in the park when a strange old man approaches them. They soon find out he's homeless, but he's also a veteran of the United States military. Why is he homeless and what is his problem?
Episode Commentary: This is a very well written and important episode. I believe it properly explains to children (and adults) what "less fortunate" people experience on a daily basis, but also HOW they get to that point. It also gives a solution: you have to overcome your spiritual battle (in this case: depression) by trusting that God has a plan for you and then taking the steps to find and follow His plan. It's also cool because this episode shows that Joe, the homeless veteran, has already asked Jesus into his heart previously, yet he still has spiritual problems. This explains to children that even after Salvation, we need to keep trusting God to meet the needs of our daily problems. So true! |
